March 31st, 2011

Tonight was a great night for wrestling, given Koye didn't do his best but these kids were older and have been doing it a little longer. He wrestled Dylan, his cousin and was doing really well but gave up. Poor kid started to cry and if any of you know me I don't handle crying well!! Not at all!! Needless to say I had to walk away, but both of us calmed down and I told him that if he wrestled his best that I would let him get his very own ice cream from Kiwi Loco (my all time favorite ice cream place). He wrestled the next kid and pinned him but it took him longer than usual. He still did great. I'm so proud of him for not giving up. After the match I asked him if he was happy he wrestled again and with tears in his eyes he said, "Mom I don't like 2nd place, I only like 1st, 2nd isn't very good." I was laughing so hard, sometimes kids have to learn that they can't win everything and Koye is slowly but surely learning that, So either he will work harder so he doesn't lose or he will deal with it. Who knows he is only 5!!! On our way to Kiwi Loco Cain was talking about how bad he sucked at wrestling in high school and Koye says, "Dad, if you ever want to wrestle with, what do you call them, um.. What you and mom are, um.. adults, I will teach you all my moves if you want me to!" So stinkin sweet of him to offer that!! He is such an amazing kid and growing up so fast, everyday is something new!!
I have to add in that I really don't care for Easter candy, but I will tell you these are by far my favorite. Blackfoot, the lame city that it is didn't have any. Seriously Wal-mart, Ridleys, Walgreens and even Keslers. I had to make a quick stop at Target because I knew they had some!! Gosh Blackfoot really needs to get with it!! Haha

A LITTLE UPDATE!!

So far this wrestling season has been great. Koye has only lost one match!! He is doing great and loving every minute of it. He is such a good sport and makes sure to tell the other kid good job. He loves it when his coach comes over to help him, I think it makes him feel like he is a pretty big deal. I had Koyes Kindergarten check up yesterday and he is weighing in at 47 pounds and is 42 3/4 inches. The little shrimp is 50th percentile on height and 75th percentile on weight. Lets just say he isn't starving!! His eyesite is great for his age 20/30 vision. GREAT NEWS!! Dr. Julian looked in his ears and said she has never seen cleaner ears before and she needs a medical student to come see what clean ears look like!! I will admit I was a little worried but he is doing great.

Imree is such a little worm, we have officially taken the sippy cup away and she now drinks out of a big girl cup. Cain tells her that she needs to go potty in the toilet like a young lady so the other day Imree was drinking out of her cup and was so excited that she didn't spill and said, " now I a lady." It was so cute. When I wouldn't give her a sippy cup she through a fit and said, "I not happy with you mom."  That was hilarious!! She is a great little girl.

Cain had school this week and we are down to one more week in April and graduation in May!!! THANK GOODNESS!!!

Going private

After much thought I have decided to go private please let me know if you would like to be added. I love using this blog as a journal for my kids, but times are scary and I only want those that I know and know me well to get to see what is going on. Thank everyone for reading about us!!

I'm actually a good mom and wife (sometimes)

I have to say.. I must be teaching my kids something. My family and I went to say a prayer last night and Imree wanted to say it. She is two so most of the time, Cain or I say it and she repeats it. Last night I asked who wanted to say the prayer and Imree said she wanted to so she folded her arms and started her prayer all by herself and said about 3 sentences all by herself. I know that isn't a whole lot but Koye just barely started to say his prayers by himself about a year ago. I'm so proud of her and how fast she is learning things. She is such a smart little worm. I'm not taking all the credit, I know Koye has taught her a thing or two, good and bad.

Koye had his second wrestling tournament, I didn't get to go but my dad said he was all smiles and having a ball. He won both of his matches too. I'm so proud of Koye for being him, he is such a blessing and makes me laugh when I'm having a bad day. He knows how to push my buttons but he is smart and good at being a big brother.  I signed Koye up for Tee-ball last week, he seems pretty excited. The one nice day we had this week, we went outside and hit the ball for a bit. Tomorrow 03/17 I am signing Koye up for Kindergarten. I can't believe he is already old enough to go to school. He has grown up so fast and is so smart, I can't wait to see everything he accomplishes in school. Lets just hope that he doesn't get my math skills!

I have also learned a lesson this week that has been a long time coming and I should have learned this lesson years ago but I am very hard headed. I learned don't talk to others when your having a bad day, just turn off your phone computer, I-pod everything and play with your kids, watch a movie or sleep.

I get bored sometimes when I'm working nights and the other night I found this article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110309/hl_nm/us_couples_survey

Funny Right?!! Well after reading it a few times I realized Cain and I are in our 3rd year of marriage and out of those top 10 niggles and passion killers he and I both do about 7 of them. Ridiculous!! I decided that I am going to try harder to not snore at night and make Cain cut his toenails outside not in our bed!! Okay I'm totally kidding neither one of us do those things but I really want to work on this list. Wish me luck!!

Boise/ Steelhead game

We had a good shopping trip, Cain was pumped he got to go to Cabelas I kept to myself and let him enjoy his store. I was surprised that all he bought was a gun cleaning kit cause his old one was ruined somehow. I thought for sure we would come out of there with a new gun. I on the other hand came out of there with some new fancy polarized sunglasses (thank you Sammi and Wade) and a new Garmin GPS. Thank you Cain for my birthday present that I'm pretty sure you like more than I do, but since I'm the one that doesn't like to be at home, I will put it to good use, trust me.
(no laughing at the picture but I do like my sunglasses)
I had such a great time in Boise, I must admit I needed that time away from my kids and from home. I love my kids with all my heart but sometimes you need to get away to remember what means the most to you.

Koye and his FIRST wrestling tournament

I had to hurry and put this on my blog cause I'm so excited about it. Koye had his first real wrestling matches tonight!! He did awesome, he is so aggressive. He pinned both kids, and was so polite to the other kids.. he was so excited jumping up and down. He was cracking me up. Oh and don't let me forget he was smiling from ear to ear. Cain even got into it a little bit, made me laugh. I'm so proud of him. On the way home he said, "I wasn't scared I just told myself I had to be strong so I could beat those guys." Did I mention he got a medal and he was so excited, that was all he talked about on the way home, "his first medal"
